Mangano (left) joined Friendly’s franchisee and J&B Restaurant Partners President and Chief Executive Officer Joe Vitrano (right) on April 27, 2011 to announce a series of giveaways and a special $4 menu at Friendly’s restaurants across Long Island. The four-week initiative is designed to commemorate four decades of family fun on Long Island and will also include improvements to its 33 locations across Nassau and Suffolk counties.

In addition, Friendly’s general managers will bestow “Random Acts of Friendlyness” on Long Island when they surprise 20 randomly selected Friendly’s guests each with $400 in cash. All totaled, Friendly’s executives will award $8,000 to guests through May 19.

“In the harsh economic times that we currently find ourselves in, it is encouraging when we see businesses thriving, employing our residents and contributing to our local economy,” said Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano. “It is my pleasure and honor to join Friendly’s as they celebrate this milestone anniversary here on Long Island. I wish them continued success and thank them for being a great corporate citizen.”
