Mangano Joins North Shore Animal League America For 17th Annual Pet Adoption

Beginning Saturday, April 30 and Continuing 36-Hours Straight, More than 700 Adorable Animals, Including Hundreds of Purebred Dogs & Puppies will be Seeking Loving Homes

Port Washington, NY – Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano, Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice and two-time Super Bowl Champion Jarvis Green of the New England Patriots joined the North Shore Animal League America on Friday, April 29th to announce this weekend’s 17th Annual Pet Adoptathon®. For 36 hours beginning on Saturday, April 30 at 9:00 a.m., the North Shore Animal League America will open its doors to find homeless pets permanent homes.

More than 2,000 animal shelters and rescue groups around the world will join the Animal League for this premiere global pet adoption event, sponsored by Purina ONE® and Purina One beyOnd, to help save the lives of homeless pets.

County Executive Mangano provided North Shore Animal League America with a Proclamation recognizing this weekend as their 17th Annual Pet Adoptathon. County Executive Mangano stated, “Last year’s Adoptathon weekend was exceptionally successful with over 22,000 animals being adopted internationally within two days. I urge anyone interested in bringing home a new family member who will love you unconditionally to come down this weekend. In addition, I would like to recognize and thank North Shore Animal League for all of their outstanding work since 1944 saving the lives of almost one million animals.”
