Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano today announced that Nassau County will participate in “Community Wellness Day” on Sunday, May 15, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Whispering Pines School on Jericho Turnpike in Old Westbury. Hosted by Dr. Ray Omid of Advanced Holistic Healthcare, Community Wellness Day is a national event focusing on educating the members of our community on important information which is critical to thetotal wellnessfor all of our residents. This free event will be taking place in many cities nationwideduring a 4 week period of Spring of 2011.

“This event provides our community the opportunity to learn more about keeping family’s healthy both physically and financially,” said County Executive Ed Mangano. “Nassau County will participate in this event to provide our residents with information on how government can help during these economically challenging times.”

Dr. Omid, an expert in the field of health and wellness, stated “The health care crisis is not going to be solved in Washington. It is going to be solved in our community through education, awareness, and people making lifestyle changes. I work very hard outside of my office in our community to give people the tools they need to take back responsibility for their family’s health and well-being. It is for this reason that I am so proud to be bringing this event to our town.”

Dr. Omid has chosen the Coalition Against Child Abuse and Neglect to be the beneficiary of the event. The Coalition Against Child Abuse and Neglect vision and mission is creating a community where all children flourish and protecting children against abuse and neglect with compassionate support and innovative, professional programs and services.
