Mangano Announces Second Annual LI Carbbean-American Heritage International Festival To Be Held At Eisenhower Park

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano and the Jamaica Cultural Alliance announced today that the Second Annual Long Island Caribbean-American International Festival (LICAIF) will be held at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theater in Eisenhower Park on Saturday, June 18, 2011 from 2:00-9:00 p.m.

LICAIF is a free, family-oriented event which will feature a wide array of music, arts & crafts, food, and displays from the various Caribbean Islands. This year’s event will feature Caribbean Gospel with world-renowned artist Shirley Willis, one of the founding members of the popular Grace Thrillers, Natalie Evans, and Barrington Reid. In addition, Soca and Calypso with Supa P, Adlib Steel Orchestra and the popular Angels Caribbean Band will perform, along with popular reggae artists Mighty Diamonds and Frankie Paul. Also back by popular demand are The Dream Castle Models.

“Last year’s inaugural festival featured more than 10,000 attendees celebrating the many cultures of the Caribbean, and I once again invite everyone to Eisenhower Park for this great event,” said County Executive Mangano.
