Under the leadership of County Executive Mangano, Commissioner Shah-Gavnoudias has begun to reverse years of neglect at both Cedar Creek and Bay Park sewage treatment plants as well as implement critical improvements to the County’s infrastructure. As Commissioner, Shah-Gavnoudias oversees the maintenance of more than 2,000 lane miles of County roads, approximately 900 County buildings, more than 1,500 non-emergency County vehicles, three major sewage treatment plants, 1,650 traffic signals throughout the County and five engineering units.

“Commissioner Shah-Gavnoudias has a tremendous responsibility to the people, and this award confirms her dedication to excellence in her field,” said Mangano. “It is well-deserved.”
