Emma Greenfield Of Hicksville Honors Mangano For Saving The Games

Emma Greenfield (right) of Hicksville presented Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano (left) with the first Gold Medal at the Nassau County Empire State Games for the Physically Challenged for his efforts in saving the Games after New York State announced its plans to eliminate all funding for the Empire State Games.

This is Emma's fifth year participating in the Games. She is 12 years old, has cerebral palsy and competes in the power chair races and all field events. Next year she is looking forward to adding swimming and wheelchair basketball to her resume. Emma, her twin brother Dylan who also has cerebral palsy, along with their family have played an active role in Saving the Games.
