Mangano Announces Registration For Fall Fitness Classes At Eisenhower Park's Aquatic Center

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano announced today that registration has begun at the Nassau County Aquatic Center for a wide variety of aquatic fitness and land exercise classes. This program is part of the County Executive’s Fit Nassau initiative aimed at making Nassau County the healthiest County in the nation.

Nassau County will host a full schedule of classes, including Fit Swim, Tai Chi, Yoga, Healthy Back, Spin-lates, Spinning, Senior Power, Half Hour of Power, Pilates, Weight Room Fundamentals, Core and Stretch, Total Body Express, Yin Yoga, Extreme Conditioning, Zumba, and Speed, Agility & Plyometrics for Sports. Classes range from 30-60 minutes and are offered Monday through Saturday. Each series is held for ten weeks, beginning in mid-September and ending in mid-November. Sign up is first come, first served and must be done in person.

“These classes are a healthy addition to our Fit Nassau campaign that promotes healthy living,” said County Executive Mangano. “Residents interested should take advantage of these classes and our Nassau County Aquatic Center.”

Schedules with details are below and attached and are also available on the Nassau County website. Registration will be ongoing during business hours until classes are full. Classes will be cancelled if enrollment numbers do not meet at least half the full class size.

Centrally located in Eisenhower Park on Merrick Avenue in East Meadow, the Nassau County Aquatic Center is one of the premier swimming facilities in the country. Built in 1998 for the Goodwill Games, it serves the general public as well as competitive swimmers. The Aquatic Center regularly hosts college and local high school competitive swimming and diving meets and has hosted scores of Olympians, including Michael Phelps.
