EMERGENCY TAXPAYER PROTECTION ORDER OF 2010

EXECUTIVE ORDER BY THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE, PURSUANT TO SECTION 203 OF THE COUNTY GOVERNMENT LAW OF NASSAU COUNTY

(Relating to procedures before the Assessment Review Commission)

The Nassau County Assessment Review Commission (“ARC”) is directed to require all commercial property tax owners who have filed grievances and/or sought administrative review of their real property tax assessments to provide certified appraisals of their real property by October 1st of the year in which such grievance is filed and/or such administrative review is sought. 

ARC is further directed to impose a civil penalty of $5000 for each instance in which a property tax owner fails to provide a certified appraisal.
