Mangano Joined By The Family And Friends Of Nassau County First Responders For “Nassau County First Responders Day” At 9/11 Memorial

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano (right) and Acting Police Commissioner Tom Krumpter (2nd right) were joined by the family and friends of Nassau County first responders for “Nassau County First Responders Day” at the 9/11 Memorial in Lower Manhattan December 22nd.

County Executive Mangano, the Nassau County Police Department officials, Nassau Fire Service and Emergency Medical Service, Emergency First Responders and their family and friends were in attendance to honor those who died that tragic day, 9-11-2001. The Nassau County Police Department Ceremonial Unit, Pipe Band, Color Guard and Buglers participated in a fitting tribute to our heroes.

In addition, NCPD Sergeant Richard Doerler (4th right) from the Emergency Services Unit was in attendance and assisted with the wreath presentation as he personally worked at ground zero and helped rescue a trapped Port Authority Police Officer after the attack. Sgt. Doerler was awarded the Medal of Valor from the NCPD after the 9/11 attacks.
