Mangano To Host Birthday Celebration For Senior Citizens To Obtain Government Services

Over 70,000 Seniors Are Invited to Celebrate in 2012

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano announced today that the County will host a Senior Citizen Birthday Celebration each month in 2012 for residents ages 65 and older. The events, sponsored by JJT Energy, will provide seniors citizens with access to government services provided by the Nassau County Offices of Aging, Consumer Affairs, Assessment, Health and Human Services, Housing and Social Services. JJT Energy representatives will also be available to offer cost saving tips on energy bills.

“It is with great pleasure that I begin this program in 2012 to connect senior citizens with government representatives that can answer specific questions and provide important information about the programs and services that Nassau County has to offer. I invite Nassau seniors to join me at these events and to explore all the services government has to offer,” said County Executive Mangano.

Seniors are invited to celebrate their birthday in the month it falls in and will be served coffee, cake, and other refreshments. Entertainment is provided by the Moonlight Serenaders and all attendees will have an opportunity to participate in games and raffles. Attendees will receive a “goody bag” full of information related to celebrating the “Golden Years,” along with a free photo identification card.

Senior Citizen Birthday Celebrations will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Old Bethpage Village Restoration Fairground Building, located at 1303 Round Swamp Road in Old Bethpage.
