New Vehicle for Job Growth and Innovation Set to Turn Ideas into Action
Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano announced today the creation of the “Inventors and Entrepreneur Club of Nassau County.” Fostering an environment of job creation and innovation, this organization will provide a network for local inventors and entrepreneurs to collaborate, learn from experts, and avail themselves of County resources.
“Creating an environment where our residents can turn their ideas into action while creating jobs and economic impact is the cornerstone of our economic development program,” said County Executive Edward P. Mangano. “Nassau County has a proud history of innovation from aviation to defense to molecular biology; Nassau County has always been at the forefront. I am thrilled to launch this club and I look forward to their success.”
The club will provide novice and seasoned entrepreneurs networking and brainstorming opportunities in a safe and secure environment. With a primary goal of helping turn ideas into action, the club will provide assistance in all aspects of the inventing process and enable members to tap into critical resources. Fueled by monthly guest expert speakers, the organization will provide assistance to local inventors in each step of the innovation process.
Small business is the lifeblood of our economy,” said Joseph J. Kearney, Deputy County Executive for Economic Development. “This Club gives County residents the tools needed innovate, start and grow enterprises, and put people to work.”
The Club is set to meet monthly in the Ceremonial Chambers in the Theodore Roosevelt County Executive and Legislative Building, 1550 Franklin Avenue, Mineola, New York. The first meeting is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, January 31st at 7:00 p.m.
Local inventor and entrepreneur Brian Fried will head up the Nassau County Club. Fried, active in inventing and entrepreneur circles on Long Island, is an expert on the invention process; he is a successful inventor, author, commentator, radio host. Fried will serve as moderator of the Club.
The Nassau County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) will have a representative at each meeting to discuss the benefits and incentives available to businesses through the IDA.
