Mangano Announces Opening of Tree Debris Sites in Wake of Hurricane

Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano today announced the opening of two sites for the disposal of tree debris caused by Hurricane Sandy.

The sites are for residents and other municipalities only.

The two sites are as follows:
• The Nassau County Department of Public Works at 170 Cantiague Rock Rd., Hicksville, New York
• The Nassau County Department of Public Works at 467 Baldwin Rd. Hempstead, New York

These sites will be open seven days per week beginning Friday, November 2nd and operate from 6:00a.m. till 8:00p.m. No private landscapers or commercial.

“Residents who have removed fallen trees can bring the material to one of these locations for proper disposal,” said County Executive Mangano. “Please use caution and obey all regulations set forth by the County DPW to ensure this debris is properly and safely handled.”
