Mangano Announces The First Annual 5k New Year’s Eve Dash

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano today announced a 5k New Year's Eve Dash to support the Long Island Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (LICADD). The Dash will take place in Eisenhower Park at midnight on New Year’s Eve. Participants will begin to arrive at 10:00 p.m.

The start line will feature lighting, sound, and video as the ball drops in Times Square. Participants will count down to the New Year and start the race with a Champagne toast, and sparkling juice for children and non-drinkers.

Upon crossing the finish line, participants will enter the New Year’s Eve Party, which will take place in a heated tent adjacent to the Nassau County Aquatic Center. The after race party will include abuffet, provided by the Main Event in Plainview, beer, provided by Michelob, non-alcoholic drinks and sodas (provided by Glaceau, Snapple and Vita Coco), as well as a DJ with music and dancing until 2:00 a.m. Runners will receive a commemorative long-sleeve t-shirt, custom racing bib, and New Year’s Eve party favors.

Fees for the First Annual New Year’s Eve Dash and party are as follows: $68 for Runners and Revelers, and $50 for Revelers only and Runners 12 and under.
