Mangano Announces St. Patrick’s Day Celebration At Old Bethpage Village Restoration

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano has announced the First Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration, to be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Old Bethpage Village Restoration. The event will be held from 12 noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

Irish entertainment will include the Irish Rock Band “Finn’s Fury”, Donny Golden School of Irish Dance, fiddlers, bagpipers, Traditional Irish Set Dancers as well as 19th Century Set Dancers. Traditional Irish food and beverages will be offered and Irish merchandise will be available for purchase.

Visitors will enjoy dancing performances and refreshments at the Reception Center and then make their way to the Village’s Crossroads by strolling the Village roads or hopping on a horse drawn wagon. Food and beverages will be served at the Noon Inn and the Layton Store.

Old Bethpage Village Restoration, Nassau County’s only living history museum, is located at 1303 Round Swamp Road in Old Bethpage, one mile south of Exit 48 on the Long Island Expressway.

The event is funded through the sponsorship of Unified Window Systems Inc., the Nassau County Hotel/Motel Proceeds Grant and the Friends of Nassau County Recreation. These Grant funds are made available to Nassau County through proceeds from taxes on hotel and motel rooms in Nassau County. Since 2006, Nassau County has received over ten million dollars from this grant, and it has assisted in historic building restoration and other cultural enhancements.
