Mangano Announces Summer Concerts Under The Stars At Wantagh Park

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano today announced this summer’s Wantagh Park summer concert schedule. All performances are free of charge and will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Beginning July 12th, residents are invited to enjoy a concert under the stars, free of charge, showcasing some of the local areas most talented musical acts. Experience the beautiful waterfront location that Wantagh Park provides while listening to music ranging from jazz to classical. As the concerts are outside, concertgoers are urged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the show.

The concerts under the stars at Wantagh Park are as follows:

July 12th: SixGun

SixGun, the tri-state area’s premier Country/Rock band, is best described as “County with a Kick.” Tight harmonies and hot leads have become their trademark. American and European audiences as large as 35,000 have stomped, danced and cheered to their dynamic sound. SixGun’s blend of music appeals to everyone.

July 19th: Banooba

Taking cues from all of their influences – including funk, jazz, reggae and rock – Banooba is the latest hybrid to successfully incorporate all of these elements into their own signature sound. Having been compared to a range of bands, including Sublime, The Allman Brothers, Blind Melon, Umphrey’s Mcgee, Incubus, Steely Dan and Average White Band, people’s description of their music varies depending on who you ask.

July 26th: Leon Petruzzi Jazz Orchestra - CANCELED

The Leon Petruzzi Jazz Orchestra is dedicated to the preservation, education, and performance of music written for, and performed by, the jazz orchestra. The purpose and goal is to keep this art form alive through active performance and to pass it along to future generations of performers and fans.
