Mangano: “Reach for the Stars” Teen Talent Finals Rescheduled For Monday, July 30th

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano announced today that the 2012 ‘Reach for the Stars’ Teen Talent Finals has been rescheduled for Monday, July 30th. The Finals will be held at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre in Eisenhower Park and will begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.

The ‘Reach for the Stars’ competition is a showcase of the county’s most talented young stars between the ages of 13 and 19. Finalists were narrowed down to 21 contestants from an audition field of 64 after displaying their skillful talents as solo vocalists. Previous winners of the competition include participants who moved on to American Idol fame; Kevin Covais in 2003, and Robbie Rosen in 2009. This year, Linda Mangano will act as Mistress of Ceremonies.

The Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre is located near parking fields 6 and 6A in Eisenhower Park. Lakeside Theatre is a venue with no formal seating. Concertgoers are urged to bring folding chairs or blankets.
