“July 4th is traditionally one of this country’s most cherished holidays. The birthday of our nation provides us with an opportunity to reflect on the liberties that we, as Americans, enjoy every day. It gives us a collective moment to pause and appreciate all the blessings that freedom affords us as citizens of the United States thanks to our active military and veterans. Here, in Nassau County, we are fortunate to enjoy a rich history built on the guiding principles of our forefathers and a quality of life that protects and ensures those ideals. Founded in traditions, Independence Day gives us permission to relax for a day; to spend time with family and friends, to barbecue and sit on one of our beautiful beaches, watch a parade or marvel at a professional fireworks display. I wish everyone a happy and healthy Independence Day!”
