Mangano, Bosworth Announce Middle Neck Road Improvement Project To Begin

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano and Nassau County Legislator Judy Bosworth today announced that a major project to improve road conditions and drainage on Middle Neck Road in Great Neck will begin within the next 60 days.

County Executive Mangano stated, “Working in partnership with Legislator Bosworth and the community, my administration is investing the dollars needed to improve road conditions and drainage on Middle Neck Road. Together, we are building a better, brighter and safer Nassau County.”

“This project is vital to the Great Neck Peninsula and it could not have proceeded without the support of County Executive Mangano and his staff along with local elected officials and community leaders,” said Legislator Bosworth. “With the changes in weather patterns it has become more apparent than ever how important it is to address the flooding issues along Middle Neck Road.”

The project will address decades-old issues concerns in the area. The work consists of roadway and drainage improvements from Beverly Road to Preston Street. During the project a concrete box culvert will be built which will provide additional drainage.

In addition there will be curb and pavement improvements. The project will also call for utility alteration and additional work. It is expected to take one year to complete the project.

Mangano pledged there will be no work performed during holy days, most notably Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
