Mangano Invites Residents To Sinatra Performance By Critically Acclaimed Singer & Actor Robert Davi

Tribute to Sinatra, the Great American Songbook and America

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano today announced that critically acclaimed singer and actor Robert Davi will perform a tribute to Frank Sinatra at Eisenhower Park's Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre on Friday, August 30th. The free "Davi Sings Sinatra" concert begins at 7:00 p.m. with opening act, comedian Mike Marino.

An iconic screen presence, Robert Davi has many hit movies, including “Die Hard,” “Show Girls,” “The Goonies” and is considered one of the top three Bond Villains in “License to Kill.” Robert Davi is also devoted to the American Songbook and a memorable showcase honoring “The Chairman of the Board.”

Robert Davi's show is a superbly theatrical and beautifully presented tribute to the man who defined 20th Century popular music. In concept and execution, Davi's performance is unlike any other entertainer's. More than a concert, his reflective program (which includes snippets of well-placed dialog to supplement the music) is designed to return his audience to Sinatra’s music of the 40s and 50s, timeless to this day.

Much of the programming at Lakeside Theatre is made possible through the Nassau County Hotel/Motel Proceeds Grant, which are proceeds from taxes on hotel and motel rooms in Nassau County. Since 2006, Nassau County has received more than ten million dollars from the Hotel/Motel Proceeds Grant, which also has assisted in historic building restoration and other cultural enhancements.

The Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre is located in Eisenhower Park, Hempstead Turnpike and Stewart Avenue, near parking fields 6 and 6A. Lakeside Theatre is a venue with no formal seating. Concertgoers are urged to bring folding chairs or blankets. Special accommodations are available for disabled patrons, including reserved parking, easily accessible restrooms and a convenient reserved location on the hill. Assistive hearing devices are also available upon request for the hearing impaired.
