Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano today announced the award of $740,264 in Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for the Town of North Hempstead to address a wide range of community improvements, including the New Cassel Urban Renewal Area and Port Washington Model Blocks Area.
County Executive Mangano stated, “This Federal funding allows my administration to partner with Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth to bolster economic development in the New Cassel Urban Renewal Area and Port Washington Model Blocks area. North Hempstead will also receive funding for Concerned Citizens for Roslyn Youth, a Roslyn Heights organization that provides programs and services for elementary school-aged children, including students with special needs.”
Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth stated, “County Executive Mangano and I know how very important this Federal funding is to help us continue our mission of revitalizing downtowns and bringing important services to those across the Town of North Hempstead. I look forward to continuing the partnership between North Hempstead and Nassau County and adding to our ongoing community development projects in areas such as New Cassel which have already proved to be so successful.”
