THE SOCIAL SERVICE VOLUNTEERS OF NASSAU COUNTY
LAUNCH A NEW PROGRAM, “DRESS TO IMPRESS”

County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi announced today that the Social Service Volunteers of Nassau County in partnership with the County’s Health and Human Services (HHS) has opened a clothing boutique to benefit individuals re-entering the workforce.  The clothing, which has been donated by staff and volunteers, includes business attire for both men and women. All clothing has been dry cleaned prior to being distributed. “Given the current economic situation, the County recognizes that jobs are very hard to come by,” said County Executive Suozzi.  “If we can provide clothing to individuals who are seeking or have secured employment and cannot afford appropriate business attire, we are hopefully reducing some stressors.”

“We are excited about launching the Dress To Impress program for Nassau County residents,” added Social Services Commissioner John Imhof.   “Programs similar to this have been very successful.  People naturally feel good about themselves when they dress professionally to go to work.”
