Nassau County Department of Health has closed Laurel Hollow Beach due to elevated bacterial levels, effective today, June 10, 2011.
In addition, North Hempstead Beach Park is closed as a precautionary measure due to heavy rainfall. Storm water runoff can have a negative impact by elevating bacterial levels used to assess bathing water quality.
