Beaches Closed to Bathing

Due to heavy rainfall, Nassau County Department of Health has closed the following 13 beaches to bathing as a precautionary measure, effective today, June 24, 2011.

Storm water runoff can have a negative impact by elevating bacterial levels and affecting bathing water quality.

Centre Island Sound

Creek Club

Lattingtown Beach

Morgan Sound

North Hempstead Beach Park

Piping Rock Beach Club

Pryibil Beach

Ransom Beach

Roosevelt Beach

Sea Cliff Village Beach

Soundside Beach

Stehli Beach

Tappen Beach

In addition, Laurel Hollow Beach remains closed to bathing due to elevated bacterial levels.
