Beaches Closed to Bathing

Due to heavy rainfall, the Nassau County Department of Health has closed the following 18 beaches to bathing as a precautionary measure, effective today, July 21, 2012. Storm water runoff can have a negative impact by elevating bacterial levels and affecting bathing water quality.

3. Lattingtown Beach
4. Laurel Hollow Beach
5. Morgan Sound
6. North Hempstead Beach Park
7. Piping Rock Beach Club
8. Prybil Beach
9. Ransom Beach
10. Roosevelt Beach
11. Sea Cliff Village Beach
12. Soundside Beach
13. Stehli Beach
14. Tappen Beach

4 Nassau County South Shore Beaches:

1. Hewlett Point Beach
2. Island Park Beach
3. Merrick Estates Civic Association
4. Philip Healey Beach

In addition, Biltmore Beach Club in Massapequa has been closed due to elevated bacterial levels.
