Mineola, NY – Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano today announced the appointment of Lawrence E. Eisenstein, M.D., F.A.C.P. as Commissioner of Health.
Dr. Eisenstein has served as the Deputy Commissioner of Health since December 2009. Dr. Eisenstein completed his medical training in Nassau County at Winthrop University-Hospital in Mineola, first as an Internal Medicine Resident, then as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine, followed by a Fellowship in Infectious Diseases. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease.
“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Eisenstein as Commissioner of Health,” said County Executive Mangano. “Dr. Eisenstein’s experience, leadership and dedication are key assets which will serve to protect and promote the health of the residents of Nassau County.”
“I am honored to serve as Nassau County Health Commissioner. I will continue to support and protect the public health system of Nassau County,” said Dr. Eisenstein. “I look forward to working with County Executive Mangano in further promoting the health of the residents of Nassau County.”
Dr. Eisenstein is 39 years old and resides in Nassau County with his wife and two children.
