Nassau County Legislator Kevan Abrahams (D-Hempstead) is offering “no out of pocket expense” mammography for the women of Freeport on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008 in the Nassau Health Care Corporation’s van that will be stationed in the Zion Cathedral Parking Lot, 312 Grand Ave., Freeport. If you are 40 years of age or older and have not had a mammography or your last one was more than one year ago…no matter who you are, Legislator Abrahams and his staff want to hear from you as soon as possible! Call them at 571-6201 for an appointment…early detection saves lives.
If you are interested in the “no out of pocket expense” mammography screening you must pre-register by Sept. 23, reside in Nassau County (preference will be given to women in Legislative District One) and have limited or no health insurance.
Once you have an appointment, remember to: bring your films if you have had a prior mammography; bring photo identification; ring a referral from you doctor (your insurance policy may not allow you to have this test without a referral from your Primary Care Provider…call your doctor to obtain one); do not wear deodorant.
The Mammography Van is made possible through the Nassau Health Care Corporation Breast Cancer Screening Program.
