(UNIONDALE, NY) – Nassau County Legislator Kevan Abrahams (D-Freeport), along with Dr. Donald Humphrey, principal of Turtle Hook Middle School, and Major Terry Foster, Senior Army Instructor, Uniondale High School, are once again sponsoring a community health fair at Uniondale High School (933 Goodrich Street, Uniondale) on Saturday, Mar. 22, 2014, from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. as part of Uniondale School District’s “Parent Activity Day.”
This free event will offer valuable and educational health information, and provide helpful options to promote healthy lifestyle choices.
Parent Activity Day includes a series of workshops to benefit parents with students in the school system in a variety of areas including: academic readiness, building self-esteem, healthy cooking and managing household finances.
Event coordinators are still accepting applications from health vendors! This event was a huge success last year, and at least 600 families are anticipated to attend. This is a “free” event and includes set up (table and chairs) and light refreshments. Space is limited, and interested vendors are asked to respond by March 19 to reserve a spot.
For more information, please call Legislator Abrahams’ office at 516-571-6201 or Dr. Donald Humphrey at 516-918-1300.
