June 17, 2014
(GARDEN CITY, NY) – Nassau County Legislator Kevan Abrahams (D-Freeport), in conjunction with Town of Hempstead’s Department of Occupational Resources, are once again hosting the 2014 Job/Career Fair, including a Veteran’s Job & Resource Fair, at Nassau Community College – CCB Multipurpose Room on Monday, June 23rd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Together, they are offering local businesses or franchises a better chance to target prospective employees, including our veterans.
Registration is FREE! It’s not too early to sign-up for this event and reserve your company’s spot. Space is limited, but still available for interested businesses, industries, vendors or franchises to join. It allows employers to survey a large number of job applicants quickly and inexpensively, without months of interviewing.
This event gives employers, schools and franchise recruiters a chance to meet with prospective job seekers. Businesses and franchises who sign up will be able to interview and accept résumés from interested attendees immediately, and in person. All participating employers will be provided with a table and two chairs, and ample parking on premise is available. Please note that venue space is limited and a selection process will determine your status.
The job fair is free to all who participate, and is a tremendous opportunity for employers, as well as potential employees. Additional features of the job fair include chances for job-seekers to speak with a variety of different business owners and representatives in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere, and opportunities to gain terrific experience in the interviewing process. There is also a Veteran’s Job Fair & Resource Service Support component for any business looking to hire vets. All attendees are encouraged to bring their résumés.
To sign-up and obtain early registration forms, or request more information, please contact Legislator Abrahams’ office at 516-571-6201 or e-mail kabrahams@nassaucountyny.gov.
Affinity Health Plan is already sponsoring the event, and more sponsorships are always welcomed. Please call Legislator Abrahams’ office if you would like to help sponsor this or any future events.
Note: It is at our discretion that we must limit the number of employment possibilities that are duplicates in some areas. This will allow for a more wide-range of employment and occupation opportunities.
