Legislator Abrahams Suggests Unique Mother’s Day Gift

Mammography Saves Lives. Ask Your Mom to Make an Appointment.

Nassau County Legislator Kevan Abrahams (D-Hempstead) today joined with the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program in their annual Mother’s Day campaign to urge women to get mammograms.

Legislator Abrahams offered a unique Mother’s Day gift to everyone. He said “on Mother’s Day please remind your mother to make an appointment to get a mammogram. I hope that this Mother’s Day women will take the time to make an appointment for a mammogram. Approximately 95 percent of all mammograms prove to be normal.”

Callers can also get emotional support from the hotline’s specially trained volunteers, most of who are women who have had breast cancer.
