We Need You in the Fight against Hunger
Legislator Kevan Abrahams (D-Hempstead) announced that September is “Hunger Action Month”. The Nassau lawmaker is pleased that Long Island Cares the Harry Chapin Food Bank is connected a nationwide network of over 200 food banks that works to combat hunger.
Throughout the month Long Island Cares is taking action to fight hunger though a campaign known as 30 Ways in 30 Days. Citizens are urged to contribute in their own “way” to assist this worthy campaign. Legislator Abrahams believes, “this program promoted by Long Island Cares will help alleviate the pain of hunger for the countless people who suffer from hunger. I urge all my fellow residents to do whatever they can to make this program successful”.
Listed on the Long Island Cares’ website are 30 featured “ways”, one for each day in September where one can choose and take a pledge in making a positive difference in the struggle against hunger.
