Legislator Siela Bynoe, joined by community & healthcare allies to promote awareness & education on cancer to local communities
(WESTBURY, NY) - Legislator Siela Bynoe will be holding two ‘Free Educational Awareness’ workshops for local constituents. The events which will be held on Tuesday, May 6th in Westbury and Wednesday May 7th in Hempstead are to foster awareness and dialogue on cancer. The events both start at 7:00pm and run through to 8:30pm. The flyer is attached in three languages, English, Spanish & Haitian Creole to promote cancer awareness to all.
“It is simple. Awareness saves lives. Just being aware of the local resources provided by our healthcare system and understanding the different kinds of cancer and how to make your health a personal priority is key.” shared Siela Bynoe.
Nassau University Medical Center (NUHEALTH) will be working along with Legislator Bynoe to provide these two days of awareness. All are welcome and bi-lingual services will be made available in both Spanish and Haitian Creole. Legislator Bynoe says, “I just want to ensure that cancer education, access to screenings and healthcare options is something being connected to each and every community and constituent. When it comes to making our own health a priority there should be no language barrier.”
So mark your calendars, come on down and share this important event with family and friends. There is no better way to start spring than by looking after ourselves. For more information contact the office of Legislator Bynoe, District 2 at 516-571-6202.
