Legislator Howard J. Kopel encourages you to become a member of C.E.R.T.

The Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) Program educates and trains Nassau County residents in basic disaster response and recovery skills.  When an emergency or disaster happens, C.E.R.T. members can give critical support to first-line responders and provide immediate assistance to their community. 

Training includes:

• Fire Safety Procedures • Disaster Medical Operations •

• Light Search and Rescue Techniques •         

• Team Organization Skills • Disaster Psychology •

Attend 8 FREE Basic Training classes to become a C.E.R.T. Team Member.  The training will give you peace of mind, and help you to help your family and community if an emergency arises.

The 2011 C.E.R.T. Basic Training class schedule:  

5/4, 5/11, 5/18, 5/25, 6/1, 6/15, 6/22 and 6/29 at 7:00pm
