Nassau County Legislators Howard J. Kopel and Francis X. Becker, Jr. will be hosting a community forum along with Town of Hempstead Councilman Anthony J. Santino, Police Commissioner Lawrence W. Mulvey and the Nassau County Police Department on Wednesday, June 16th from 7:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. at East Rockaway High School to discuss Nassau’s current heroin epidemic and the County’s proactive three pronged approach (Enforcement, Parental Awareness and Education) to combating this critical issue.

In addition, residents over age 18 are urged to go through their home medicine cabinets and bring their unwanted, unused, expired and/or illicit drugs to the meeting where they will be able to anonymously hand over their medications for safe disposal.
