Legislator Kopel Announces Grant Park Skating Rink Will Soon Be Open For The Winter!!

           

Nassau County Legislator Howard Kopel is pleased to announce that on November 26th, the Grant Park skating rink, will be open for the winter. The rink, located in Hewlett, will offer skating lessons five days a week, as well as an option for ice charters, hockey games and private rentals.

“The skating rink provides great fun and exercise for the whole family,” said Legislator Kopel. “As an added bonus, the park is already owned by Nassau, so this opening comes at no additional cost to the county.”

The Grant Park rink offers two-hour day public skating sessions five days a week as follows: Wednesday - Thursday at 10:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.; Friday at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.; Saturday at 10:30 a.m., 1:15 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday at 10:30 a.m., 1:15 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Registration for lessons is November 17th from 6:30 to 9 p.m. There will be rental skates available for those who do not own their own skates.

Grant Park is located by Broadway and Sheridan Avenue in Hewlett. In addition to the ice skating rink, there is a large, modern playground; basketball, tennis and handball courts; baseball fields; and fishing in the park lake. For information, call 516-571-7821.
