Nassau County Legislator Dennis Dunne, Sr., was honored by a consortium of environmental groups for his leadership on the two Nassau County Environmental Bond proposals. The proposals, totaling $150 million dollars, were overwhelmingly approved by Nassau County voters, with the funds used to preserve open space, brownfields remediation, and other environmentally conscious projects.
Legislator Dunne was presented with the Nassau County Open Space Award in recognition of his unwavering support for environmental issues. “I am grateful for this award. It is especially rewarding to be recognized for something that comes so naturally to me. I am committed to preserving and maintaining superior environmental practices on Long Island, and these two environmental bonds are just the beginning,” stated Legislator Dunne.
