James Vernon Elementary School Parents as Reading Partners Week

Thursday, March 10th was a delightful day for Legislator Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) who visited the James Vernon Elementary School in East Norwich to read to a class for PARP week. Jacobs explained to the students how important reading is, no matter what field of work you choose as you get older. “The theme for the day was cooking, even with a recipe posted, to be read, in each classroom. It was innovative, exciting and truly made an impression on the students and, might I add, myself. I enjoyed it immensely and the apron and chef’s hat just ‘topped’ off the experience,” said Jacobs.
