Legislator Jacobs Tags Along With Girl Scouts at Operation Cookie Send Off for U.S. Troops Overseas

Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) joined Girl Scouts of Nassau County when they helped package and load cases of Girl Scout Cookies into a truck to be delivered to the U.S. troops overseas.

“I think that “Operation Cookie” is an excellent Girl Scout mission and it was an honor for me to not only help the girls load the trucks, but also see the looks of satisfaction and commitment on their faces,” she said. “And I enjoyed hearing the members of the military who were present tell us of how thrilled they were to receive a sweet gift from home.”

The cookie donation is made possible due to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Operation Cookie program, "Operation Cookie" which offers customers the opportunity to help lift the spirits of service men and women by purchasing extra boxes or cases of cookies to donate to the U.S. Military. More than 40,000 boxes or almost one million cookies will make their way to recipients internationally.
