Legislator Jacobs Announces Major Step Forward in the Jackson Avenue Road Improvement Project

Laura Schultz, of Residents for a More Beautiful Syosset, (center) attended the Nassau County Legislature’s meeting on Monday, Jan. 12, and personally witnessed a major step in the right direction regarding Jackson Avenue in Syosset. The Legislatures approved, through all its committees, an item which truly begins the final stage of the improvement to Jackson Avenue from Jericho Turnpike to the railroad tracks. The project includes the realignment of Jackson Avenue along that stretch of the road. There are a lot of preliminary matters to be approved before actual work begins, however passage through the Legislative Committees was a major advance toward construction. Pictured with Ms. Schultz are Legislator Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) and the Legislature’s Public Works Committee Chairman, Legislator David Denenberg (D-Merrick).
