Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs, (D-Woodbury) welcomed three DECA students from Plainview- Old Bethpage High School to her office in Mineola. Melissa Benenson, Rebecca Breier and Allison Giosa decided to partner with Junior Achievement for their Financial Literacy Promotion DECA project. The purpose of Junior Achievement is to educate students about the importance of entrepreneurship , financial literacy, and work-place skills. After speaking with representatives from the school, the three students decided to utilize the “More Than Money” curriculum and target all 5th graders in the school district. The event was a huge success and the three girls decided to make it a part of their Public Relations Campaign this school year.
