(Mineola, NY) Nassau County Clerk Maureen O’Connell, a registered nurse, recently attended an Advisory Board meeting for the Nursing Department of Nassau Community College. Clerk O’Connell joined the discussion focusing on “The Changing Health Care Scene: The Shift from Acute Inpatient Care.” Among the topics discussed was how the shift from acute inpatient care is impacting nursing education and practice and how Nassau Community College can best prepare its graduates for the current and future job market.
