(Mineola, NY) Father Steven Camp, Pastor of St. Christopher’s Church in Baldwin, was named a Monsignor by His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI. This past Sunday, a Mass and celebration of this momentous occasion was held at St. Christopher’s. Bishop William Murphy of the Diocese of Rockville Centre formally installed and conveyed the title to Reverend Monsignor Steven Camp. Monsignor Camp was raised in East Williston and upon entering the priesthood has been on the pastoral staff at parishes throughout the Diocese. Monsignor Camp was joined by numerous members of his family and friends to witness this milestone. Also on hand were many area officials and community leaders who have worked very closely with the Monsignor throughout his years of service. Nassau County Clerk Maureen O’Connell along with Congressman Peter King took part in the celebration and shared with Monsignor Camp their congratulations. He was presented with a Citation in recognition of this event and in honor of his great commitment to the community.
